Internal Family Systems
no bad parts.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a gentle, yet transformative form of therapy built on a simple idea: we all are made up of different “parts.”
Think of your mind like a supportive inner family or team. You might have a part that is a perfectionist driven to success, a part that feels anxious when stressed or a part that wants to retreat and rest. Sometimes, these parts don’t get along, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, or feeling stuck carrying painful emotional burdens from our past.
In IFS, there are no bad parts- even ones that feel uncomfortable or cause self-sabotaging behavior. Every part is simply trying to protect you in the only way it knows how.
Through IFS, you learn to step into your Self. Self is your core state of calm, clarity, and compassion. From this place, you can get to know your inner parts, help them heal, and bring harmony back into your world.
Most importantly:
You are not broken: you are a complete person with different inner parts that sometimes disagree
All parts are welcome: every thought, emotion, or reaction has a positive intention to protect you
Healing comes from within: by leading with your compassionate core Self, you can unburden old wounds and build inner trust
